Later on once they get this information they withdraw money from the ac.

Bank fraud alert: With a rise in digital dependency and cashless transactions, these frauds have become common. There are number of cases registered for such cases where, customers complaint bank officials about promised rewards, jackpots and vouchers.
We often receive messages and e-mails promising bumper prize wins, reward points, expensive gifts, cash vouchers, lotteries, jackpots etc on our bank account number, credit card number or even mobile number. If you have ever been a victim of such case or received such SMS or mail, read on to find how the banks are lending their hands to protect you from frauds by sending alert messages. Modus operandi:
Step 1
Fraudsters send SMS intimating customer’s of prize money, lottery, job offers etc. and requesting them to share their Card or Account credentials.
Step 2
Unaware, the customer’s follow instructions to visit a website, call a phone number or download malicious content.
Step 3
Details thus shared with the person who initiated the SMS are then used to conduct fraudulent transactions on customer’s account, causing them financial loss.
What to do:
When you fall prey to such fraud, immediately register a complaint with the nearest police station and inform your bank.
